Well let me start by apologising for not keeping up with my blog over the past few weeks as I have been really busy with planning to move house and performing at lots of great weddings. The past few weeks have truly flown by.
With the amazing weather we’ve been having recently its been great to perform magic outside in some of the lovely venues around Yorkshire. Over the past few weeks I have also had chance to visit some venues I haven’t visited before, some of these include Denton Hall in Ilkley and Bagden Hall in Denby Dale so if you get chance they are well worth a visit.
I have been really lucky recently as like last month I have spent some time studying with some of my idols in magic and also managed to grab front row tickets for Derren Browns new show Infamous. If you get chance to see his UK tour it certainly is a great night out and like his other shows is really well put together with a great mix of magic and mind reading.
Below are pictures of the beautiful Denton Hall.

I promised I’d let you know how the Britain Does Variety competition went. Well I didn’t get through to the grand final in London but it was a great evening which I thoroughly enjoyed and it was a sell out performance in front of an audience of 600 people.
It really taught me a lot about my act and areas in which I can improve so all in all I took some great things from it. I also made some new friends and business contacts with the fellow acts and the people who run the competition. Who knows I may give it another shot next year.
Since my last Blog I recently attended the Northern Magic circle Convention in Whitby, North Yorkshire as part of my presidents duties for the Bradford Magic Circle. It was a great chance to spend some time with some of my idols in magic as well as a chance to meet up with friends and share some ideas and thoughts on close-up magic and mind reading, it isn’t very often we all get chance to see each other in one place.
Tonight I’m off to see a great magician lecture on how to develop a competition act for FISM which is like the magic Olympics and which occurs every four years at different cities around the globe where magicians compete to be crowned the best magician in the world.
That’s all from me this time I shall leave it short and sweet. Thanks for reading

So tomorrow is the regional finals for Britain Does Variety at the Royal College of Music in Manchester. I am surprisingly nervous going into this event for some reason, even though I have done a number things on stage in front of large audiences this just seems a little different. I think it could be down to the fact that I am being judged by people from within the entertainment industry and its not everyday you get to showcase what you can do in front of these people; or it could be that the routine I have chosen to do normally takes twelve minutes and I have had to cut it down to make the 5 minute time limit they have given me. Either way I am bricking it.
I will let you know how it turns out in my next blog or if you would like to come and see the show and say hey follow this link for details.
In other news I have recently done a few shows up at Leeds/Bradford airport which went down really well, entertaining all the passengers awaiting their flights to various parts of the world. Also the wedding season is fully under way with me performing close-up magic at a number of weddings in Bradford, Manchester, Leeds and Wakefield in the coming weeks, lets hope the weather improves a fair bit.
I am also hard at work developing some great new routines to go into my act, plus I’m also putting the finishing touches to a routine I plan to sell to other magicians later this year. I have been developing this for the past few years and it has become my baby.
April 5th 2013
So this week marks my forth year of performing magic for a living and I thought I would mark this occasion by starting a blog so people can follow my trials and tribulations over the coming months.
I’ve been studying magic and performing at weddings, private functions and corporate events for over a decade and magic has now been my sole income for the last 3 years. In that time I have learnt many different things about myself, I’ve met thousands of different people and performed at hundreds of different venues across the country. I couldn’t be happier with making the decision to go self employed and forge a living from doing what I love. I would really urge anyone thinking about going self employed to give it a shot and follow your dream.
This forth year in magic is an exciting one for me, as this year I became the President of the Bradford Magic Circle and in the coming weeks I am competing in the regional finals for the National competition ‘Britain Does Variety’. Info about this can be found by clicking here.
April also marks the start of the wedding season and this year seems to be the busiest I’ve had so far with many months packed out with happy couples ready to tie the knot.
In the coming months I also have plans to launch my one man stage show, all the details of this including venues and ticket give-a-ways will be announced on my facebook and twitter pages so keep an eye out!
That’s it from me for now but please feel free to stalk me on twitter and like my facebook page the links can be found below.
